Gum Recession Treatment

Receding gums can be repaired to look and feel healthy.

Pocket Depth Reduction

We offer many different periodontal treatments to treat receding gums. Most often, a dental procedure known as pocket depth reduction is used to reverse receding gums. Pocket depth reduction occurs as we lift your gum tissue in order to clean and sanitize the bacteria-filled pockets. Most importantly, our Arlington, TX periodontist removes all signs of periodontal disease.

Once all signs of periodontal disease have been removed, we will snugly place your gums back over your teeth, reducing the pocket size dramatically. If your gums are tender or if you have pain when eating, your gums may be receding.

Receding Gums

Gum recession occurs when the gum tissues that support your teeth pull away from your tooth or begin to wear away. Often, your gum-line recedes, exposing more of the tooth and the tooth root, making your teeth appear unusually long. As your gums pull away, gaps or pockets can form between your tooth and your gum-line. This area can quickly become filled with disease-causing bacteria, which, if left untreated, can eventually cause gum loss, tooth loss, and even bone loss.

If your gums are tender or if you have pain when eating, you may have gum recession in Arlington, Texas. We are here to help, and we invite you to contact our dental office today to schedule an appointment and start on the road to a healthier smile.
